Kevin Hitt


Coach Kevin Hitt enters his third season at Laguna Beach VBC, bringing with him over 25 years of experience coaching at the collegiate, high school, and club levels.

Coach Kevin has amassed 10 years of collegiate coaching experience at the Division I and Division II levels, serving as an assistant coach at Northern Michigan University (1991-1993), Rice University (1994-1995), Cal State Dominguez Hills (1998-2000), Long Beach State (2004-2006), Cal State Fullerton (2014), and UC Irvine (2015). While at Northern Michigan University, Coach Kevin helped his team to reach 2 consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship games (1992, 1993), capturing the title at their second appearance. While at Long Beach State in 2005 he assisted the 49ers earn the Big West Conference Title. During his time at the collegiate level, Coach Kevin coached 10 All-Americans and 2 NCAA Players of the Year. 

As a head coach at the high school varsity level, Coach Kevin began at Mayfair High School where his team went 80-0 and won 7 consecutive league titles in the 7 years that he was there (1998-2004). He then went on to serve as Head Girls Varsity volleyball coach at Canyon High School (2007-2011). From there he moved on to Villa Park High School (2012-2014) where he coached the team to its first league title in school history (2014).

From 2009-2012 Coach Kevin has also spent time in the USA Volleyball gym with our country's best players, serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the USA Women's National Team where he was responsible for the implementation of practice protocols and training techniques.

Coach Kevin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in single-subject secondary English from National University. He continues to share his love for volleyball with his wife and daughter.
